Corrosion protection class

The International standard (ISO) established 4 corrosion protection classes which are orientated to the Electroplating Industry.

1. Modest demands
Inner atmosphere, dry, most modest corrosion attack; for example watch cases, domestic articles

2. Mild or modest demands
Inner atmosphere in moist rooms, protected places outside; for example sanatary fittings

3. Strong demands
External car parts, bicycle parts, garden furniture etc.

4. Extreme strong demands
Under extreme exposed conditions, for example bumper parts and hub caps from cars which are exposed to rain, dirt, sand and rock slides and by snow, ice and road salt in winter.


The classification of the demanded steps is agreed upon between supplier and the customer.
